Champions League: AC Milan Draw Barcelona, Potentially Face Chelsea, Real Madrid

The draw for the quarterfinals of the UEFA Champions League took place today and the final bracket was created. AC Milan Soccer Jerseys team were presented with a rematch from the group stages as they take on defending champions Barcelona.

The winner of the Milan-Barcelona matchup will play the winner of Benfica-Chelsea. On the other side of the bracket, APOEL will play Real Madrid while Marseille will play Bayern Munich.

For Milan, it is a chance to finally get over the hump that Barcelona have created. Over two matches in September and November, Barcelona Jersey team players grabbed four of a possible six points and outscored Milan 5-4. The gap between the two sides was narrow as Barca were unable to bury Milan as they should have.

In September, while missing star striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic and coming off only their first league match of the year, a banged-up Milan went to Spain and took a 1-0 lead just 24 seconds in. The Italian outfit then equalized right on the brink of the full-time whistle to get a 2-2 draw.

In November, a very close affair went Barcelona’s way at the San Siro in a 3-2 victory.

Milan are hoping to keep pushing through the competition. At the start of the year, the club made very clear that its main goal was to win the Champions League. Reaching the quarterfinals is already a proud accomplishment, as it is the first time since 2007 that the seven-time champions have come this far.

Of course, in 2007, Milan won the competition.

Milan reach the quarterfinals by way of defeating English side Arsenal in the round of 16. Inter Milan Jersey team won the opening match 4-0 at the San Siro before putting on the brakes and falling to a 3-0 defeat in London. Despite Arsenal’s domination in the first half of the second leg, Milan survived.

If Milan are completely healthy, this has the potential to be one of the greatest quarterfinals in a long time. At the very least, it will certainly be the most intriguing this year, as Chelsea, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich are all likely to be clear favorites in their fixtures.

On March 28 and April 3, Milan will be seeking revenge.
